Ambitious player

Many players don`t want to go to the trouble of really understanding the odds and how they affect the chances of wining or loosing. The typical mindset seems to be that detailed knowledge of the odds really doesn`t have much to do with winning or loosing. After all, casino gambling is a loosing proposition no matter what the game and therefore winning only amounts to the sheer luck of the moment. Such a mindset is fine for someone who gambles only occasionally and then mostly just for the party making. But it really won`t suffice if it is to be a frequent recreational pursuit. For the serious recreational gambler, the name of the game is beating the casinos and consequently `beating the odds` to the extent that such things are possible. The casinos are the advisory and the odds are their front line weapon against the ambitious player. The classical code of the warrior admonishes one to know thy advisory well.
